Senior Accountant

Today, Yara Marine offers a portfolio of green technologies, such as SOx scrubbers, fuel optimization systems, turnkey shore power solutions, and the cutting-edge, advanced wind-assisted propulsion system WindWings. Yara Marine is headquartered in Oslo, Norway, with offices in Sweden, Poland, and China.

About the role

The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Finance Manager in Sweden. You will be part of the Finance department and an accounting team of 6 people, including a Team Lead Accounting. As one of two Senior Accountants in the department you will have a main responsibility for the legal entity in Norway, but you will also be expected to assist with the Swedish entity when needed.

About you

To thrive in this position, you are a solution-oriented person with a strategic and
hands on approach. You have a technical (finance) interest and excellent communication skills. You are also creative and self-driven as a person. Furthermore, we believe you have a:

• University Degree in Finance, Accounting, and/or Auditing
• Min 5 years experience in the Finance and Accounting field
• Proven knowledge of accounting principles, VAT, standards and laws
• Advanced experience from in Excel and ERP systems
• Fluency in English (writing/speaking)
• Experience from complex businesses
• Experience working in an international environment is a plus

Key Responsibilities

• Driving and managing the day-to-day accounting activities for the legal entity
• Monthly reporting in Yara’s group consolidation system (Hyperion Financial Management) according to IFRS standards.
• Managing questions related to VAT and tax
• Run internal projects within Finance and Accounting
• Collaborate closely with business controller and other internal departments/stakeholders
• Communicate with relevant authorities and other external parties
• Participate in internal projects as and when needed
• Contribute to developing efficient processes and structures within Finance
