Business Controller

Do you want to ensure and control the economic forecasts, in order to help Yara Marine Technologies in their work to create a healthy planet for future generations? We are now looking for a Business Controller to strengthen the financial team. 

Since 2010, Yara Marine Technologies has been at the forefront of maritime emissions reduction, working closely with ship-owners, yards, and naval architects as partners in our effort to drive the change toward sustainable shipping. Today, Yara Marine offers a portfolio of green technologies, such as SOx scrubbers, fuel optimization systems, turnkey shore power solutions, and the cutting-edge, advanced wind-assisted propulsion system WindWings. Yara Marine is headquartered in Oslo, Norway, with offices in Sweden, Poland, and China.

About the role

The Business Controller will report directly to the Finance Manager in Gothenburg. You will be part of the Finance function in Sweden and will work closely with the Team leader of Business Controlling on a day-to-day basis. As a Business Controller, you will work actively with Project Managers as well as the Heads of the 5 Business Lines in Yara Marine following up on project profitability. You stay up to date to ensure that all parameters of the projects are according to plan, such as cost, margins, and cash flow.

About you

To thrive in this position, you are Business minded and results driven. You have a proactive way of working and are always curious about the next challenge. As a person, you have a flexible and creative approach towards new assignments and your colleagues. Furthermore, we believe you have a:

• University Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Economics
• Min 2 years´ experience as a project controller or business controller
• Experience working in/with projects
• Excellent knowledge of and experience from working in Excel
• Experience from developing business reports is a plus
• Experience from working in complex environments meritorious
• Knowledge of accounting principles is an advantage

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure continuous follow up on budgets and the overall status of the projects
• Analyze budget deviations and report to key stakeholders such as Business Line Managers, Project Managers and Finance Manager
• Support the organization in developing an overview of project budgets and prognosis, and other project finance related activities
• Ensure timely and exact project invoicing and collection in cooperation with the Project Managers and the Finance Department
• Assist in mapping processes and controls in ERP system in order to achieve good financial transparency
