Application Engineer

Do you want to enable green technology solutions, in order to help Yara Marine Technologies in their work to create a healthy planet for future generations? We are now looking for an Application Engineer to strengthen our team.

Since 2010, Yara Marine Technologies has been at the forefront of maritime emissions reduction, working closely with ship-owners, yards, and naval architects as partners in our effort to drive the change toward sustainable shipping. Today, Yara Marine offers a portfolio of green technologies, such as SOx scrubbers, fuel optimization systems, turnkey shore power solutions, and the cutting-edge, advanced wind-assisted propulsion system WindWings. Yara Marine is headquartered in Oslo, Norway, with offices in Sweden, Poland, and China.

About the role

The Application Engineer will report directly to the Technical Manager in Gothenburg. You will be part of a team working closely with customers on the vessel-specific changes needed. This includes everything from creating blueprints for the systems and testing them, to support and documentation as well as creating manuals. Customers can have very different requirements and you will make sure to support the customer from order to delivery and manage handover to other departments within Yara Marine.

The role is very varied, which means there are many opportunities to grow and develop within the role and the company. Examples of development areas are embedded programming, project management and procurement.


About you

To thrive in this position, you have a high technical interest and a proactive way of working. You are always curious about the next challenge and wants to deepen your knowledge in all the systems we provide. As a person, you have a flexible and creative approach towards new assignments and your colleagues. Furthermore, we believe you bring:

• Technical education/degree within electronics or automation
• Experience from CAD drawings
• Experience from having close customer contacts
• Fluency in English (verbal/written)
• Experience from marine engineering and/or technical support experience is an advantage
• Working experience from a similar role would be a plus
