Where will you work
In the Transformation Office, at Group level, we are a team of approx. 25 employees - and we are in the middle of an exciting growth phase. The Transformation Office has the overall responsibility for planning and building SSAB’s new Steel Mills for Fossil Free Steel production. Together we build up our capability for execution and are now establishing functions for successful project deliveries. In this position you will be part of our Procurement team and work close with suppliers, other team-colleagues, internal resources at our divisions, consultants and other stakeholders.
Your location is optional and can be in either Brahestad (FIN), Stockholm or in Luleå (SWE), still you need to be flexible and work in all three locations if/when needed, either physically or digitally.

About the job
As Senior Contract Manager at the Transformation Office, you will be in charge of defining the contract management role and the responsibilities for large construction-, installation-, equipment-, or full EPC-, Contracts.
In our ambition to bring forward green transition by planning a new Nordic production system, our Transformation Office is strengthening the team within Procurement with Senior Contract manager(s). The role(s) are new to the Transformation Office and to SSAB as a company, therefore you will bring in new key competence and experience to the team and have below responsibilities;
- Define Contract management plan/function/responsibilities including Contract compliance, sub-contractor management, Cost and Quantity Surveillance, claims management, etc.
- Monitor contractual rights and obligations for main project contract with support of defined competences/roles existing or needed to be established.
- Advising in the preparation of legal and contractual documents, ensuring balanced conditions and follow-up structure.
- Participating in the negotiation team during contracting phases.
- Provide support and advice to the Project, Project Management and Transformation Office.
- Participate in the Transformation Office’s Procurement team’s work with defining and developing tools/processes/governance needed to be in place to contribute to effective planning and execution of the whole procurement and contract management deliverables.
The Transformation office’s procurement team consists of Senior Investment Sourcing Managers, Purchasing Specialists, Contract Managers and other potential roles.

- The role requires travelling from time to time and during periods, extensive business travels are a part of the job.
To summarize, you will cooperate with project managers and Senior Investment procurement, Controlling, toward sharp and challenging deadlines but also work outside your comfort zone to solve complex problems and make decisions.
Your qualifications
To be fruitful in this role we think that you are an experienced contract Manager with at least 5-8 years’ experience of working in large construction projects with an understanding of the full cycle of investment projects. You also need to have an independent, method driven and result oriented way of working which gives structure to your approach. As a person, you have effective communication- and networking skills.

- For you to be suitable for this role, we expect you to have a Master's or Bachelor’s financial, technical or legal degree. Alternatively, that you may have gained similar qualifications or experience in some other way.
- You will act in an international business environment, so we expect you to be advanced in written and spoken English. Additionally, it is a merit to speak Finnish and/or Swedish.
- You need professional skills in Microsoft Office 365.
