Description of the position:
As a Field Service Technician, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining and providing technical support for a broad spectrum of laboratory equipment. This includes petroleum and oil analysers, basic and chemical instruments such as incubators, water purifying systems, chemical preparation instruments, and a variety of analytical instruments.
Your role will encompass the installation of these devices, conducting Installation Qualification/Operational Qualification (IQ/OQ), carrying out periodic maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing faults. If you wish, you may also undertake the task of training customers. Our clientele comprises food and industrial laboratories, hospitals, and research institutes, predominantly located in Norway, but if needed we assist the colleagues across the Nordic region.
You will independently plan, coordinate, and report your work. In addition, you will collaborate closely with our sales and maintenance team, managing principal contacts related to maintenance and technical support.
Please note that this role involves travel and overnight stays as a major part of your daily work.
Location to live: Oslo area
What we expect from you
- Prior experience with the instruments mentioned above
- The ability to work in a goal-oriented and planned manner in a rapidly evolving and changing environment, demonstrating courage, self-direction, and flexibility
- Preferably, an educational background that supports the job position in the field of chemistry or engineering, a lower university degree is valued
- Technical hand skills and a passion for working with machinery
- Proficiency in using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems
- Comfortable with travel, including:
- Visits to clients in Norway and, to some extent, in the Nordics
- Attendance at supplier trainings in Europe
- Fluent communication skills in Norwegian and English. Proficiency in other Nordic languages is appreciated
- IT skills and the ability to resolve IT-related issues
- A required driver’s license
