Transformation Process Specialist – Continuous Galvanizing

As we embark on our fossil-free transformation journey, we are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Process Specialist within Continuous Galvanizing to take the lead responsibility for the process design of our Continuous Galvanizing production connected to SSAB´s fossil-free transformation.

This position will be based in Luleå in Sweden.

About the position

Are you a driven and curious person that has a passion to combine an understanding of process and technology in the Continuous Galvanizing area and like to work in Projects? We are looking for a Process Specialist that has Continuous Galvanizing as area of expertise, who likes to share knowledge, has a broad network and understands the importance of being a good communicator. You will play a crucial part in providing competence and experience to ensure a successful start and ramp up of the new cold mill complex in Luleå.

As a person you have an open and curious approach and a genuine interest in listening to and learning from others. You are also collaborative and team oriented. The transformation project is the biggest construction and operations implementation project in SSAB´s history, we are therefore both humble as well as driven and – together we create value.

Responsibilities

• Lead responsible for the process technical design of the continuous galvanizing production.
• Lead process development specialists for the new cold mill complex working closely with section project manager for mini-mill area in the design of equipment and layout.
• Develop with metal coating operations relevant training program for operators including SOPs for the cold mill complex in Luleå.
• Support the Luleå/Hämeenlinna conversion project with relevant expertise.

Your qualifications

To be successful in this role we think you have:

• Education: minimum Master’s or Bachelor degree or equivalent.
• Recognized and deep understanding of thin slab casting from process development, equipment configuration to system development.
• Previous experience of participating as process expert in capital projects related to continuous galvanizing line investments.
• Structured and analytical approach to engage and coordinate internal and external resources.
• Team oriented and practical experience of change management is a merit.
