The Business Unit Controller plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health, performance, and operational efficiency of the manufacturing business unit in Trollhättan. This position holds end-to-end responsibility for finance and controlling processes and acts as a strategic business partner to both management and operations.
You will drive the development and implementation of financial strategies, deliver accurate and insightful reporting, and perform in-depth performance analysis to support informed decision-making. Working closely with the Division Controlling team and Business Unit Management, you will optimize profitability, resource allocation, and ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
This role also includes leadership of a dedicated team of two accountants, guiding their development to build a resilient, high-performing finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and maintenance of monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans for the business unit.
Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and present financial reports with clear analysis of KPIs, trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Analyze manufacturing costs and drive initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Partner closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations and Supply Chain, to align financial performance with business objectives.
Lead, develop, and strengthen the finance team to ensure a resilient and high-performing finance function.
The position is located at the business unit in Trollhättan, Sweden, and you report to the Division Controller for Hydraulic Pump & Motor Europe Division and have a dotted line to the Business Unit Manager.

Professional experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is considered a strong advantage.
Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
At least 5 years of proven leadership experience with direct people management responsibility.
Strong proficiency in financial systems and ERP platforms for reporting, analysis, and decision support.
Advanced Excel skills with demonstrated experience in data analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices, including Swedish GAAP; experience with US GAAP and SOX compliance is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Swedish and English
