HSEQ Manager | Thermo-Transit
For Thermo-Transit, we are now looking for an
HSEQ Manager
Make an impact where quality, safety and freshness truly matter
Thermo-Transit is a leading Nordic logistics company specialising in temperature-controlled transport of fish, seafood, fresh fruit, vegetables and other perishable goods across Europe. Since its foundation in Denmark in 1987, the company has built a strong reputation for reliability, flexibility and operational excellence in some of the most demanding cold-chain environments.
Today, Thermo-Transit is headquartered in Oslo, employs more than 2,000 people, and operates a modern fleet of over 650 trucks and 850 refrigerated trailers. The company is part of Girteka Group, Europe’s largest asset-based logistics company, providing access to extensive road and rail networks across the continent.
Thermo-Transit’s mission is to ensure that perishable goods are delivered with optimal freshness, integrity and regulatory compliance – from origin to point of sale. The company culture is pragmatic, execution-focused and built on trust through delivery. Structure, compliance and operational discipline are key, combined with the ability to adapt quickly when realities change.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the CFO, the HSEQ Manager has overall responsibility for ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, certifications and customer requirements across the Norwegian organisation. The role is both operational and strategic, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement, prevention and practical implementation in close cooperation with managers, employees, terminals and subcontractors.
This is a broad and visible role with real impact, suited for someone who thrives in regulated, fast-paced environments and who combines structure with a “get-things-done” mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Establish, develop and progressively formalise the company’s quality and HSEQ management framework, including policies, procedures, documentation and governance structures
Lead the implementation and alignment of operations with applicable HSEQ legislation and relevant standards and certifications, including preparation for future ISO compliance
Introduce and structure processes for nonconformity management, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions, and embed continuous improvement practices across the organisation
Define and implement relevant quality, HSEQ and environmental KPIs, and establish regular reporting to management and authorities where required
Build and coordinate internal audit processes and prepare the organisation for external, authority and customer audits, including due diligence and inspections
Set up and coordinate safety rounds, AMU input and collaboration with occupational health services in cooperation with HR
Establish monitoring and reporting structures for environmental performance (CO₂ emissions, energy, waste) and drive alignment with environmental objectives and customer requirements (ISO 14001 / ESG / Miljøfyrtårn)
Actively build engagement and ownership among management and employees, shaping a strong, practical and sustainable quality, safety and improvement culture
Your Profile
To succeed in this role, we believe you have:
Relevant bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Quality Management, Engineering, Logistics, or equivalent professional experience.
Strong working knowledge of ISO management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Experience with transportation and logistics regulations, including driver safety and cross-border compliance.
Practical experience with audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, corrective/preventive actions, and deviation systems.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in HSEQ, quality, safety or compliance roles within transportation, logistics or related operational environments.
Furthermore, we believe you are structured, solution-oriented and comfortable working independently in a broad role with many stakeholders. You communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, and are skilled at building trust and engagement across operational and management levels. You combine high responsibility with energy, initiative and a pragmatic approach, and you are motivated by creating real improvement rather than producing documentation for its own sake.
Fluency in Norwegian (or Swedish/Danish) and English, both written and spoken, is required.
We Offer
A key role in an international, fast-paced environment within a leading logistics group where you will have a real opportunity to influence safety, quality and sustainability across the organisation. The role offers significant personal and professional development in a broad, senior HSEQ role.
