Head of Sales
Manta Marine Technologies (MMT) offers a comprehensive portfolio of cutting-edge technologies to enable a greener maritime industry. These range from Vessel Optimization solutions — such as FuelOpt, Route Pilot AI and Fleet Analytics — to Turnkey Shore Power Solutions, VFDs and Lifecycle Services. Headquartered in Oslo, Norway, with offices in Sweden, Poland and China, Manta Marine Technologies works closely with ship-owners to advance sustainable shipping.
We are now seeking an ambitious and results-driven Head of Sales to strengthen our growth journey and position Manta Marine Technologies as a market leader in green maritime solutions.
About the position
The Head of Sales plays a key role in driving MMT’s commercial growth and market expansion within the maritime and green technology sectors. This position combines strategic sales leadership with a strong hands-on focus on business development and key account growth. Leading a team of professionals, the Head of Sales will ensure MMT achieves its ambitious revenue targets by cultivating new business opportunities, deepening existing client relationships, and translating strategy into tangible sales results.
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), the Head of Sales will collaborate closely with the leadership team to ensure effective strategic execution, client retention, and long-term business development.
Areas of responsibility
- Driving overall sales performance and achieving company revenue targets across key markets and customer segments.
- Leading, coaching, and developing the team to ensure high engagement, accountability, and performance.
- Leading business development in new and existing markets, focusing on large, complex, and international opportunities.
- Executing the commercial and sales strategy in close collaboration with the CCO and leadership team.
- Developing sales plans, account strategies, and KPIs to secure consistent execution and measurable progress.
- Representing MMT at industry events, conferences, and forums to position the company as a leader in green shipping.
- Building and maintaining long-term relationships with key clients to ensure loyalty and recurring business.
- Proactively following up on major commercial proposals and support smooth project handovers to Business Line and Project Managers.
- Ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation of all sales activities and opportunities in CRM.
- Effectively communicating market insights, performance results, and commercial opportunities to internal stakeholders and senior management
About you
To succeed in this role, you are a commercially driven leader with a strong track record of developing business within the maritime, shipping, or green technology sectors. You combine a hunter’s drive with a relationship-oriented mindset, and you excel at balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution.
As a leader, you are inspirational, supportive, and results-oriented, fostering engagement and accountability within your team. You bring an analytical yet entrepreneurial approach, identifying new opportunities and turning them into measurable business outcomes. Your communication style is persuasive, professional, and adaptable, allowing you to build credibility and influence across a variety of stakeholders and contexts.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years in total experience from the maritime industry with a number of years in sales leadership roles.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a sales team, balancing strategic oversight with personal sales involvement.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets through strategic account management and proactive business development.
- Experience from international, cross-functional organizations and comfort operating in complex stakeholder environment.
- Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and influence at senior levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability, combined with strategic thinking and resilience.
