Commercial Manager
Manta Marine Technologies (MMT) offers a comprehensive portfolio of cutting-edge technologies to enable a greener maritime industry. These range from Vessel Optimization solutions — such as FuelOpt (hardware), and Fleet Analytics (software) — to Turnkey Shore Power Solutions, VFDs and Lifecycle Services. Headquartered in Oslo, Norway, with main office in Sweden and additional offices in Poland, Singapore and China.
We are now seeking an ambitious and results-driven Commercial Manager to strengthen our growth journey and position Manta Marine Technologies as a market leader in green maritime solutions.
About the position
As Commercial Manager you play a key role in driving MMT’s growth and market expansion within the maritime and green technology sectors. You will focus on building the sales pipeline, winning new customers, and growing existing accounts. This is a hands-on commercial role where energy, drive, and a strong hunter mentality are essential combined with a structured approach to sales.
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), the Commercial Manager will work closely with business line leaders and project managers to secure long-term client partnerships and deliver sustainable growth.
Areas of responsibility
Drive new business development in selected target segments and geographies, proactively identifying, qualifying, and pursuing commercial opportunities in line with MMT’s overall commercial strategy.
Act as a hunter with strong customer focus, building a robust pipeline through active prospecting, stakeholder mapping, and early engagement with shipowners, operators, yards, and partners.
Translate technical solutions into customer value, demonstrating a solid understanding of MMT’s technologies and their operational, environmental, and financial impact for the customer.
Develop and execute sales plans, account strategies, and opportunity-specific win plans in a structured way, supported by clearly defined KPIs to ensure disciplined execution and measurable commercial progress.
Own the commercial dialogue end-to-end, including opportunity qualification, proposal development, negotiations, and closing – in close collaboration with technical, engineering, and business line experts.
Represent MMT externally at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings, positioning the company as a trusted commercial partner and thought leader within maritime greentech and green shipping.
Build and maintain long-term customer relationships with the ability to grow trust, repeat business, and strategic partnerships over time.
Ensure structured handover of secured projects to Business Line and Project Managers, safeguarding scope, assumptions, and commercial commitments to enable successful execution.
Maintain accurate and transparent pipeline management, ensuring all commercial activities, opportunities, and customer interactions are documented and up to date in CRM systems.
Monitor market developments, competitor activity, and regulatory trends affecting the maritime and energy transition landscape, and proactively identify implications for MMT’s commercial positioning.
Communicate market insights, opportunity status, and commercial performance clearly and credibly to internal stakeholders and senior management, contributing to strategic decision-making.
About you
To succeed in this role, you are commercially astute with a strong track record of developing and winning business within the maritime, shipping, or green technology sectors. You combine a hunter’s drive with a structured sales approach and a relationship-oriented mindset.
You are able to create new customer relations from scratch as you are proactive in seeking out and closing opportunities. You have a strong sense of ownership and accountability and a structured way of working with your sales funnel and prospects. You are good at building relations internally and understand which resources to draw upon in order to progress your sales opportunities.
Qualifications:
5+ years’ experience in commercial roles, ideally in shipping, maritime technology, energy, or greentech.
Proven ability to deliver sales results in a technical B2B environment.
Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets through strategic account management and proactive business development.
Experience from international, cross-functional organizations and comfort operating in complex stakeholder environment.
Experience from working with sales of digital solutions is a plus
10+ years in total experience from the maritime industry with a number of years in sales leadership roles.
